Simon Pilcher - Executive chairman

Simon PilcherSimon is the Executive Chairman of M&G Real Estate. Complementing the existing strong leadership team of Real Estate, Simon provides strategic direction for the further growth of the business and focuses on the relationship with the Investment Office of Prudential’s Savings and Retirement Solutions business. Simon is also Chief Executive Fixed Income with responsibility for M&G Investments’ life, annuity and institutional fixed income teams and its wholesale business. He manages teams investing in Public Debt, Leveraged Finance, Real Estate Finance, Project and Infrastructure Debt & Private Equity, Private Placements, and Distressed Debt. Simon joined the firm in 1998 from Morgan Grenfell Asset Management where he managed various fixed income teams. He graduated from Trinity Hall, Cambridge with a degree in Management Studies.

Tony Brown - Head of M&G Real Estate

Tony BrownTony became Head of M&G Real Estate in April 2018 after four years as Chief Investment Officer. He has 28 years’ real estate investment experience across the UK, Continental Europe, North America and Asia. Before joining M&G Real Estate in 2014, he was managing director of Lend Lease Investment Management, EMEA, where he oversaw a business managing £4.5bn of real estate and infrastructure funds. Prior to this, Tony spent 14 years at Schroder Investment Management, latterly as fund director, where he managed the Schroder Exempt Property Unit Trust, with investment in circa £10bn of assets. Tony started his career with Cushman and Wakefield as a graduate surveyor where he qualified as a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS).

Martin Towns - Head of UK Commercial & Global Capital Partnerships

Martin TownsMartin brings his entrepreneurial and innovative approach in helping to grow the business particularly in attracting more third-party capital globally. He joined the business in 2010 and was previously the deputy fund manager of the Prudential Assurance Company’s segregated account (c.£9bn). Martin has 13 years’ experience in real estate fund management, including as Director of Commercial Property and a fund manager at Close Brothers, where he established and managed a series of property funds in the UK and Europe.

Christopher Andrews - Head of Client Relationships & Marketing

Chris AndrewsChris’s primary role is to lead product development, marketing, client service and institutional capital raising globally, including direct responsibility for raising capital from Asia Pacific investors. Chris is based in Singapore and sits on the Singapore board as well as the main M&G Real Estate board. He joined M&G Real Estate in 2013 from MGPA with a successful track record of capital raising. Chris joined the funds management industry in 1988 with prior roles including division director for real estate at Macquarie Group in Melbourne, as well as national practice leader and head of investment consulting for Australia and New Zealand at Mercer in Melbourne and regional director, Asia for Citigroup Asset Management in Singapore. Chris has a BA (Hons) from Oxford University, an MBA from IMD in Geneva and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Nick Brown - Finance Director

Nick BrownNick has global responsibility for the finances of the M&G Real Estate business in the UK, Europe and Asia. He joined M&G Real Estate in 2014 and has 25 years of experience in finance and the built environment. Most recently, Nick held interim roles as Chief Financial Officer at Value Chain Lab Ltd and Head of Financial Planning at Wellcome Trust in London. He has also spent a number of years at Ernst and Young, including heading the Real Estate Due Diligence team. Nick is a Chartered Accountant and holds a degree in civil engineering.

Ng Chiang Ling – Asia CEO

Scott GirardChiang Ling is responsible for all of M&G Real Estate’s Asian operations, and is based in Singapore. She joined M&G Real Estate in January 2014 as acquisitions director, heading up activity in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore and also supporting the Tokyo-based team on Japan investments. Chiang Ling’s previous experience includes 15 years at the real estate private equity division of Goldman Sachs. She spearheaded the division’s expansion into China in 2002, and was responsible for investments and coverage across other countries in the Asia Pacific, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and India, through 2012. Chiang Ling is a graduate of Princeton University and holds a BSE degree in Electrical Engineering. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Japanese.

Sanjeev Sharma - Chief Operating Officer

Sanjeev SharmaSanjeev has global responsibility for Portfolio Management (consisting of Supplier Relationship Management and Insolvency, Customer Relationship Management, Health & Safety for the Investment Portfolio, Transactional Credit Risk Management and Insurance); Corporate Services (Company Secretariat, Systems Administration and Information Services and M&G RE’s corporate responsibilities for Health & Safety and Premises), Operations (IT, Luxembourg operations, Business Change and Fund Operations) and the HR team with a strategic focus on Recruitment, Reward, Learning & Development, Employee Engagement. Sanjeev has been a board member of M&G Real Estate since 2001. He was formerly head of HR and a board member of NatWest Life Assurance. Sanjeev holds a BA (Hons) in Politics and International Law and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
